Most Promiscuous Church Member of the Year

The church has a bad reputation because people feel judged by Christians and for good reason. Christians have turned judging those outside the circle of faith into an art form. This is competely opposite of what the Bible really teaches. In fact, we need to judge those who are inside the circle of faith; it is the loving thing to do.

Living The Dash

The Game of Life

The question is: So what? Millions go to church on Easter, hear the message of Jesus' resurrection and leave no different than when they walked through the doors. We all need to know the difference that the resurrection can make in our lives. Sins are forgiven, personal issues can be managed and we can live after we die.

Outburst

In a poll conducted for U.S. News and PBS’ Religion & Ethics Weekly, researchers concluded there is no difference in the behavior of Christians and non-Christians when it comes to telling lies. A quote from the poll:

“…Evangelicals—their distinctive faith aside—are acting more and more like the rest of us.”

We are bringing this game into the church. God is no fan of lying. He tells us not to do it. When we become a Christian, the Bible tells us to "take off our old self" and put on the "new self." Our old behaviors must be changed. They cannot remain the the same.

Waaah - I'm a Christian

Christians have a God-given motivation to grow closer Jesus and become more him. However, many Christians reach a certain level of spirituality, and begin to feel the church lets them down. As they grow spiritually, their satisfaction with the church's ability to "feed them" declines. It's at this point that Christians shouldn't be fed by the church, Christians need to be "feeding" themselves.

How Did I End Up Here?

Real spiritual growth occurs between the time when we say,"I give up" and the time when God shows up. When we get to the point where we're completely empty, broken and confused that's when we finally understand what it means to love God and be dependent on him.

Get Switched

Typically people view problems in their lives as being caused by God. Believing they have to react to what God has done and in turn fix the problems themselves. The truth is, that in life, things happen. When things happen, is when God steps in and does his work. God helps people make changes.
